You must have heard that gem about how it is not the camera that is important but the photographer. As much as I agree with those wise words, there are times when a good camera is very important for a good picture. For instance, this picture has all the trappings of a really good one but look closely and you realise that the incredible amount of noise in the picture makes it look horrible in any decent blowup. The reason was because it was taken with a Sony digicam that I used to carry around all the time but which fails me always when it gets darker outside. So, what could have been a really good picture with a D80, which I own now, turns out absolutely pathetic with this camera.
I just rue a missed opportunity for a great picture... :(

In the moment
This picture was taken near Vythri resorts in Wayanad. My friends were crossing over so that they could pose for a picture and I wanted to take a more natural picture as I believe that posed pictures are best saved for portraits. The water spray on my lens was unintended and the people in the frame were quite unaware that I was taking a snap right at this moment.
Location: Somewhere in Wayanad, Kerala
